The Short Version

This website does not use cookies.

No cookie banner needed, no tracking cookies, no third-party cookies, nothing. You can browse this site without any cookies being stored on your device.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They're commonly used for things like remembering login sessions, tracking user behaviour, and personalising content.

Why No Cookies?

I've made a deliberate choice to build this website without cookies because:

  • The public blog doesn't require user sessions or logins
  • I use Counter.dev for analytics, which is completely cookieless
  • I respect your privacy and don't want to track you across the web
  • It means I don't need to show you an annoying cookie consent banner

Analytics Without Cookies

I use Counter.dev for basic analytics (page views, referrers, countries). Counter.dev is designed to be privacy-friendly and doesn't use cookies, fingerprinting, or any form of persistent tracking.

Local Storage

This website uses browser local storage for functional purposes. Local storage is different from cookies — it's only accessible by this website and isn't sent with every request.

The following items may be stored in your browser's local storage:

  • Anonymous session ID (pp-session-id) — A random identifier used for anonymous blog analytics. This cannot identify you personally and is only used to count page views and time spent reading articles.

Third-Party Embeds

Blog posts may occasionally contain embedded content from third parties (such as YouTube videos or social media posts). These embeds may set their own cookies according to their own privacy policies. This is outside of my control.
